The drawer

In almost every home there is a drawer. It holds the jewelry given for great occasions — the expensive pieces, the ones you're afraid to lose. They come out twice a year. The rest of the time, we wear the pieces we don't really love, because at least those can be forgotten. Maison Taya was born from the wish to empty that drawer.

The material as the answer

We spent a long time looking for the material that could keep this promise. Solid gold is magnificent and untouchable. Gold-plated brass is affordable and turns green in three weeks. What remained was 316L surgical stainless steel — the steel of medical instruments and diving watches — covered with three microns of 18k gold. It doesn't rust, doesn't bend, doesn't react to perspiration and survives the sea. To this day it is the only material that gives the look of fine gold at a price you can afford more than once.

The design

A piece meant to be worn every day cannot be loud. Every Maison Taya design is drawn to still feel right in ten years: calm curves, measured proportions, and craft that comes from here — filigree built thread by thread, wheel-cut engraving, the slim bangle worn six at a time. We would rather have twenty considered designs than two hundred copied ones.

The price

We sell directly, with no physical boutique and no middleman, and we refuse traditional jewelry margins. That's what lets us offer a complete set for the price of dinner for two, and a necklace for the price of a lunch. Luxury, for us, is not in the label: it's in the material, the finish and the service.

The promise

Every piece ships in its case, with a WhatsApp number at the end of which sits a real person. If something goes wrong, there is no form and no call centre to face: you write to us, and we fix it.
