No. Our jewelry is made of 316L surgical stainless steel covered with three microns of 18k gold. Unlike brass or costume plating, 316L steel does not oxidise on contact with perspiration: it doesn't blacken and it leaves no green mark on the skin.

Yes. Water, rain, seawater and perspiration do not damage gold-plated stainless steel. We simply recommend avoiding repeated exposure to heavily chlorinated pools, and drying the piece after swimming.

In the vast majority of cases, yes. 316L is the steel used for surgical implants and instruments, with no free nickel. It is the material best tolerated by sensitive skin and by ears that react to costume earrings.

A solid 18k gold piece is gold all the way through, and costs ten to twenty times more. Our jewelry has a surgical steel core covered with 18k gold: the look and colour are those of fine gold, the strength is greater, and the price stays within reach.
